Minnesota Quilters' Grant Program

Requests
Grant and donation requests are considered by the MQ Board at the first regular board meeting following receipt of the request. See the requirements and descriptions below. To apply, please complete the grant form and mail it to:

Educational Grants
- Available to small quilt groups or individuals to educate people about quilting and promote quilting throughout the state and elsewhere.
- Grants of $50-500 available
- Available to individuals or groups to construct quilts for social service-oriented organizations (hospitals, women's shelters, etc.)
- Grants of $100-500 available
Donations
- Available to nonprofit entities to educate people about quilting and promote quilting throughout the state and elsewhere
- Grants of $100 - $2,000 available.

Public Television Stations:
- WDSE-TV, Duluth , Minnesota
- KAWB-TV, Brainerd, Bemidji , Minnesota
- KSMQ – TV, Austin , Minnesota
- Pioneer Public TV, Appleton , Minnesota
Quilt Guilds/Groups:
- Lake Area Quilters, Alexandria , Minnesota: Make quilts for Habitat for Humanity Recipients)
- Community Quilters, Andover, Minnesota: Make quilts for people in the community that are either suffering from an illness, people who are or have served in the military, newborn babies and other people with special needs.
Other Organizations:
- Goldstein Museum of Design , St. Paul , Minnesota
- Arts Alliance Gallery, Elk River , Minnesota (They sponsored a non-traditional quilt exhibit.)
- Women's History Month, Eagan , Minnesota
- Bundles of Love, Andover , Minnesota (They make “bundles” that include a crib size quilt in addition to other essentials for a family with a new baby.)
- Big Brothers, Big Sisters, St. Paul, Minnesota (They are sponsoring a youth quilting activity to teach youngsters about sewing and making quilt blocks.)
- Penumbra Theatre Company, St. Paul , Minnesota . (They are making a quilt for their Black Nativity Production for the 2009 Holiday season.)
