Bess Casey Wilke presents “Natural Dyeing Basics”
In just a 1-hour lecture, Bess will teach the basics of dyeing fabric with natural dyes. Bess offers what she has learned over five years of natural dyeing in an easy-to-follow format so participants can dye fabric on their own with natural ingredients. From samples and natural dye journals, participants will be able to see the variety of colors achieved through natural dye and how Bess puts these together to make an heirloom quilt. The lecture will go through the basic steps of natural dyeing – preparing fabric for dye, dyeing fabric, modifying colors, cleaning and using.
