Show Director Job Posting

Minnesota Quilters, Inc., a small non-profit organization, has an exciting opportunity for a Show Director that has potential for promotion to an Executive Director role. The position is full-time (32 + hours, negotiable) and is an on-site position located in St. Paul, MN. The schedule is flexible with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. The primary duties in the first year will include, but not be limited to:

  • Facilitate the logistics of the annual quilt show that include oversight of revenue and expenses, sponsor/vendor management, marketing, and execution of the show policies and procedures.
  • Obtain bids and work with event vendors for all show logistics, such as facilities, catering, decorating, equipment and supplies.
  • Support various volunteer show committees to ensure their show-related activities are executed.
  • Keep board apprised of show related activities by creating reports and attending monthly board meetings.
  • Collaborate across the organization and gain knowledge of the bylaws, policies and procedures, including community-related functions and committees.
  • Demonstrate the skills and experience required to be named executive director for the organization. Specific goals and responsibilities will be identified and reviewed with the selected candidates. Past experience will be considered in determining how this role will develop.
  • Develop the organizational culture by promoting transparency and collaboration throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization and leadership skills
  • Computer skills that include Excel and Google Suite
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with volunteer engagement and management
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Self-starter
  • Project management skills, with an emphasis on managing a large annual event
  • Contract management
  • Ability to manage an organization or project with a budget
  • Grant writing
  • Knowledge of Cvent
