Lisa Thorpe presents "Photo to Fabric: Design in the Palm of Your Hand"
Did you know your smart phone or tablet is a fabric art tool?
First, Lisa will demonstrate, via screen sharing, how to take a photo on your smart phone or tablet, manipulate it in an app and print the image onto fabric on a home printer or fabric printing service. She shares a variety of art quilts she's created with these images as a central theme. As well as several art quilts using multiple photo images tiled together to create a stunning collaged quilt effect.
Next, Lisa has also come up with an easy way to create a repeat printed fabric in 4 steps using your smart phone or tablet. She will explain the process of creating and uploading your own repeat print fabric designs from photos. This lecture comes with handouts detailing apps, printer info plus fabric printing sources. She will also show an array of beautiful fabrics she's created and along with examples of how she's used them in her art quilting and clothing, and home designs.
