MQP presents The MQ Quilt Collection
Soon after the Minnesota Quilters organization was incorporated in 1978, the members got busy with group quilting. They planned the organization's first show for February 1979 to coincide with the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Two group quilts were made to raffle at the show. They also created the first quilt for the MQ quilt collection. All three of those first quilts are part of the MQ collection that now consists of 28 quilts. The program will tell the story of these and other early quilts and their makers using supporting information from MQ newsletters, interviews, and quilt documentation.
The Thursday meeting will feature a video about MQ collection quilts and makers.
