Patricia Cox and Marit Lee Kucera present "Hawaiian Style Quilts from Hand-dyed Fabric"
Pat was a founding member of Minnesota Quilters and is a long-time quilt teacher and quilt collector. She has specialized in hand applique and has a business selling applique patterns. Marit, a textile artist specializing in hand-dyed silk and cotton, has sold her unique dyed fabrics at art festivals and fairs for many years. Pat used Marit’s fabric to create numerous striking quilts including a series of Hawaiian style quilts.
The program will feature Marit speaking about her dying process and Pat speaking about her method for making and applying the Hawaiian motifs. There will be a trunk show with many beautiful examples of quilts made from Marit’s fabrics.
One of the in-person raffle items will be a partially completed kit featuring one of Pat’s original applique patterns, donated by a member.
