"Signs of String: Variations on String Piecing" Workshop with Linzee Kull McCray
Quilters of the feed sack era embraced string piecing as a way to use up every last fabric scrap. But it also offers countless design opportunities, which we'll explore through images of vintage and modern string-pieced quilts from exhibits Linzee curated at the Iowa Quilt Museum and the New England Quilt Museum. Quilters will then use their own scraps to create quilt blocks on a paper foundation using the "Signs of String" pattern designed by Linzee or a pattern of their choice.
Cost for the workshop is $45 for MQ members and $50 for nonmembers.
