Additional Member Benefit
Minnesota Quilters, Inc. is an Affiliate Guild of the Textile Center. A benefit of membership in MQ is that members can check out materials from the Textile Center library. Along with groups in many other states, the Minnesota Quilt Project began documenting state quilts in the late 1980s. The project in Minnesota led to publication of the book "Minnesota Quilts: Creating Connections with Our Past" in 2005. Documentation groups in other states also published books, many of which were collected by MQP. The books tell the stories of quilters; images of quilters and the quilts they created are featured. Overall, the collection highlights the breadth of technical skills and creativity of quilters across America. View the list of books here.
MQP has collected copies of "Uncoverings," the yearly quilt research publication of the American Quilt Study Group. These journals are available also in the Textile Center Library.
The Textile Center is located in Minneapolis at 3000 University Ave SE.
